FAQ’S

We have designed Codewizard to be as intuitive as possible but there may be some features which will require clarity. Please see below. If you are still having problems, please contact us.

How to register

Registering is easy. As an assessor, please note that your BRE or Stroma certification code is optional. After entering your details, the system will send you an email to the email address supplied and You will have to click on the link in the email to validate the account and then log in. The email address you used in the registration process will become your username for logging in.

Create a project

Both Client and Assessors can create projects on the system. Clients can create them and invite assessors to run the project or Assessors can create them without client involvement or indeed invite other users onto the project to keep track of it. See here

We have designed the project creation process to follow the Stroma site registration process as closely as possible.
Mandatory fields include:

Editing project details

You can only edit a projects details if you are the lead on the project. See here for more on the project members. If you can see a padlock next to the project, you arent the project lead and cannot make changes. If you see the edit symbol then you are the lead and can go ahead and make any changes to the details as listed above.

Create a dwelling type

You will need to provide the following details as mandatory for the group of dwellings:

You will be able to upload a pre-assessment file at this stage. This is primarily aimed at client dwelling type creation to give the assessor an idea of the scale and complexity of the assessment. If you have more than one file simply zip them up and upload the zip file.

Editing dwelling type details

As with projects, you can only edit a dwelling type's details if you are the lead on the project. If you are just a member of the project team, you will only see 'View assessment' on the left hand side. To edit the dwelling type details simply click on 'Edit dwelling type' in the dwelling type box. You will then be taken back to the original dwelling type creation screens where you can change all parameters.

How to create an assessment

Once the dwelling type has been created, and you are the lead on the project, click on view assessment to go through to the Assessment Summary screen. Here, you will be able to add issues to the assessment.

How to add issues

Once the dwelling type has been created, and you are the lead on the project, click on view assessment to go through to the Assessment Summary screen. Here, you will be able to add issues to the assessment. By clicking on the Add button, you will be taken to the screen shown below which shows the expandable categories. Simply expand on the categories to reveal the issues and then add them to design stage and post construction stage as you wish. Once you have added all the issues you require, click Save and you will be taken back to the Assessment Summary screen.

How to target a Code level

We have recently added the ability to check whether you are on track to meeting a specific Code level. Kind of like a built-in Pre-Assessment estimator. By entering Target values in the individual issues, you can instantly see whether you are on target for the relevant Code level. Now all the issues have the targets next to them and the system calculates the % points achieved and outstanding. See below:

How to upload a Letter of Intent

For each issue, the assessor may upload their own pre-prepared LOI in the same way as any other files are uploaded. The client can then download, enter their details and upload back to the assessor. We have now incorporated LOI templates in each issue covered by them. See top right in each relevant Issue screen.

Notification of new evidence

After uploading single or multiple pieces of evidence, you can notify all the project users of the fact.

In the Assessment Summary page you will see an 'Evidence Alert' button as indicated below:

email_notification_codewizard

By clicking on this button all users involved will be sent an email telling them which project and dwelling type has been updated. We have made this a manual activity as the user(s) may upload several pieces of evidence at one time and we didn't want to bombard you!
